Aunt Gloria’s Potato Casserole

This is probably pretty similar to the other hash brown casserole recipes that are out there.

1 package shredded hash browns (32 ounces)
1/2 cup melted butter
1 can cream of mushroom soup
12 ounces grated American cheese
8 ounces sour cream
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 small chopped onion
2 cups crushed cornflakes
1/2 cup melted butter

Combine all but last 2 ingredients and place in 9×13 baking dish. Top with cornflakes and drizzle with melted butter. Bake uncovered at 350 for 45 minutes.
